Created by Bernard London x Julian Chichester, the Monterey Collection draws inspiration from the natural curves and fluidity of their heartland along the rugged coastline of Northumberland. The Monterey Collection launched at London Design Week and High Point Market in the USA.
The inspiration behind our collection was to create a series of pieces that blend iconic mid-century design nuances with a contemporary twist. We aimed to address an underserved niche in the market, for functional, beautifully curated furniture that transcends genres and appeals to both prime residential and commercial environments, like hotels. By challenging Julian Chichester to push the boundaries of cork, they not only met but surpassed all expectations, delivering a high-end, sleek finish that is both timeless and innovative. Drawing inspiration from the natural curves and fluidity of the Northumberland Coast, we incorporated a sustainable approach with eco-friendly materials, while the brass inlay adds a refined nod to the heritage of Julian Chichester’s collections. The use of cork and colour injections reflect our personality and design aspirations, resulting in pieces that are perfect for exceptional spaces and future owners seeking both timeless beauty and functionality.
