This renovation project reimagines what a care home can be, not as a place of retreat, but as a vibrant, welcoming destination rooted in connection, creativity and joy.
Guided by a playful interior brief, we designed an exceptional space organised around a central social hub, a magnetic heart that draws in residents, families and the wider community. This hub acts as a catalyst for intergenerational connection, encouraging moments of spontaneity, conversation and shared experience, while dissolving traditional boundaries between “care” and community.
The design language takes inspiration from mid-century modernism, expressed through a strong yet joyful colour palette and an eclectic layering of textures, patterns and forms. Bold hues sit comfortably alongside warm, tactile materials, creating interiors that feel both expressive and deeply human. This confident use of colour and character deliberately differentiates Principle Care within the care home market, establishing a brand that feels contemporary, cultured and full of life.

Yet beneath the visual confidence lies a careful balance of calm, clarity and reassurance. Intuitive layouts, familiar references and inviting domestic details ensure residents feel safe, secure and truly at home.”
