What we offer

Bernard Interiors provides a unique bespoke service, interpreting our clients’ requirements to perfection and producing luxury interiors across a broad range of sectors, including retirement, residential, hospitality and commercial projects throughout the UK and abroad.

We strive to maximise the potential of each space and develop each interior with imagination, vision and exceptional attention to detail, always aiming to exceed expectations and satisfy our clients. Our in-house team of qualified interior designers, technical staff and the procurement office work closely with trusted external professionals including planning consultants, engineers and contractors.

Our design skill set and experience encompass interior design and space planning through to bespoke joinery, furnishings and lighting design schemes. We commission and source accessories, including vintage and salvaged pieces, and artwork. We have in-depth product knowledge and an extensive library, and we regularly visit international trade and design shows to keep abreast of the latest interior trends.

Our style is born from our clients’ vision and our skills realise our clients’ business aspirations or dream lifestyle.

HOW WE WORK

We work collaboratively with clients, architects, contractors and project managers as part of the development team from day one, sharing our technical knowledge and project delivery experience. We build strong relationships which extend beyond a project’s lifetime, and we are proud of our high level of repeat business.

Our process, described below, aligns with the RIBA (Royal Institute of British Architects) Plan of Work. Once the project vision and concepts have been thoroughly discussed and agreed, we focus on delivery – on time and on budget.

Initial consultation

We arrange an initial complimentary meeting with the client to ascertain the brief. The meeting may cover the target market for the development, feasibility and planning issues as well as the vision, outline budget and timescale. This is followed by a written proposal.

Concept design

Draft layouts illustrate the use of space, any structural modifications, and furniture layouts. Mood boards demonstrate colour schemes, furniture styles and finishes. A draft cost plan is supplied with provisional sums for any works and an outline programme.

DETAIL DESIGN AND SPECIFICATION

Once the concept design is agreed, every element of the scheme is designed and specified for the client to sign off. This includes CAD plans, elevations, electrical layouts, detailed joinery packages, finishes schedules, FF&E schedules and signage packages where necessary. The client views all relevant specified items.

Procurement

A comprehensive cost plan is presented with the cost of each element per room and a summarised project total. We control the procurement process through each stage from price, negotiation, value engineering, production and delivery to quality management.

project management

A design, build and installation programme is then compiled and agreed with the client. Progress of the project is continually managed and monitored, ensuring any issues arising are quickly and efficiently resolved to the client’s satisfaction in a pragmatic manner.

SPECIALIST INSTALLATION AND DRESSING

Once all construction and fixed
items are complete, soft furnishings and window treatments are installed. The delivery and positioning of all furniture and furnishings is coordinated, artwork installed, and accessories and floral arrangements are curated to perfect the finished look.

DOCUMENTATION AND CLOSEOUT

An operations manual and care instructions are provided post handover and snagging, and if necessary we coordinate equipment suppliers to provide staff training. We continue to liaise with our client to make any necessary last adjustments before the end of the contract.

A service level agreement extends our services providing continuity to support the client’s interior brand. We make regular visits to check wear and tear, and agree fixed terms for ongoing design support and FF&E supply.

Post occupancy evaluation allows us to continually refine our output.

We create comfortable and timeless interiors with high quality specifications to exceed your expectations.
